I am working with one of Europe’s largest renewables investment managers on a new and exciting SPV Accountant. This role joins the finance function in a growing company at an exciting stage, providing strategic insight into the financial implications of the business performance. The successful candidate would be responsible for interpreting the financial results and explaining the key drivers of this performance, with a view to driving profit improvement and challenging the business decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee monthly finance reports prepared by outsourced financial service providers
  • Working closely with the Finance team to integrate SPV financial information into the monthly board reports
  • Prepare the quarterly forecasting process ensuring a high level of forecast accuracy
  • Preparation of the annual SPV budgets in consultation with the SPV asset manager
  • Liaising directly with the external auditors and accounting team manager to achieve resolution of technical accounting issues, and the SPV Directors to ensure successful completion of annual SPV statutory accounts
  • Liaising with a range of asset managers and third party service providers to gain all relevant accounting & audit related information required so as to ensure complete, timely & accurate processing of transactions
  • Liaising with external tax advisors and others in relation to VAT and Corporation tax compliance
  • Actively contributing to process improvements within the accounting team & to a positive office environment
  • Liaising the Asset Management team on ad-hoc projects
  • Assisting the FD & Finance Managers with any ad-hoc projects
  • Prepare the quarterly forecasting process ensuring a high level of forecast accuracy

Requirements

  • Recently qualified ACA / ACCA accountant
  • The ideal candidate would have a minimum of 3 years experience in a relevant auditing/accounting role with a recognized accounting firm or in a financial services company
  • Proficiency in using MS Office suite of applications with advanced Excel skills is an essential requirement
  • Experience at either performing an audit or preparing for and answering audit queries is essential
  • Knowledge of financial markets and products, and previous experience of accounting for special purpose financial vehicles would be helpful
  • Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Be capable of working on own initiative but also work well in a team
  • Self-motivated and resourceful
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • An enthusiastic, helpful nature and a flexible attitude will contribute to the success of the candidate
