An exciting opportunity has arisen for a key position in the Group Finance team. The Group Finance team is responsible for reporting, technical accounting, acquisition accounting and setting the control agenda for the Group. This role will suit a control focused Qualified Chartered Accountant (with 5+ years PQE) who is a team player, self-motivated and is able to deliver quality work in a fast-paced environment. This is a full-time permanent role based in the Group Head Office and working on a hybrid basis with 2-3 days a week in the office.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the group reporting team with the preparation of the month end financial board report e.g. consolidation journals, liaising with the divisions.
  • Assist with the statutory consolidation process during interims and year-end.
  • Responsibility for preparing or reviewing key areas of the Annual Report.
  • Assist with the roll-out of a new consolidation tool for management and statutory reporting.
  • Preparation of reports and information for external auditors.
  • Take responsibility for certain elements of the preparation of UK and Irish statutory accounts and ensuring that they are finalised within agreed timetable.
  • Take responsibility for accounting and reporting on specific projects as and when required.
  • Ad-hoc analysis and preparation of technical accounting reports as required.
  • Process documentation and improvement recommendations for the Group Finance control environment. Focus on continuous improvement to reduce non-value add activities within a particular process.
  • Assist with the purchase price allocation and fair value accounting for acquisitions as they arise.

Requirements

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant, preferably big 4 trained with a strong control focus and technical accounting knowledge
  • A minimum of five years’ work experience either in practice or industry
  • Project management experience
  • Expert MS Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint & Word)
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and organisation skills required
  • Team player who is self-motivated and able to deliver quality work in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility in an ever-changing business environment
  • Strong attention to detail
