This role joins an FMCG company in an interesting space at an exciting stage in their growth. You will manage the finance function and providing strategic insight into the financial implications of the business performance. You will be responsible for interpreting the financial results and explaining the key drivers of this performance, with a view to driving profit improvement and challenging the business decisions. You will form part of a senior leadership team who will push this business forward. The company culture is positive, and the work / life balance is good.You will have experience as a Finance Manager or similar in a mid-sized company. For the right candidate, there is scope to do this role on a part-time basis.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and control production of key weekly reports.
  • Prepare Monthly Management accounts.
  • Cash flow management and audit of internal financial control systems.
  • Take lead role in annual audit ensuring delivery to audit team on a timely basis.
  • Deliver all statutory returns, liaise with revenue, CSO etc.
  • Provide accounting and regulatory guidance on key accounting issues impacting the business.
  • Collaborate with internal management and Directors to develop & continually improve processes & systems for both financial and statutory reporting.
  • Interpret and present the monthly accounts to the management team
  • Provide insight into the performance using variance analysis and inspire the management to utilise this data
  • Prepare the quarterly forecasting process ensuring a high level of forecast accuracy
  • Prepare the annual budget process in line with deadlines, working closely with the management team

Requirements

  • Fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent) with good academics
  • Previous experience within a FMCG / distribution sector would be an advantage
  • Experience of working in fast paced, dynamic environments
  • Experience of working with stakeholders of differing levels of seniority up to and including directors across finance and non-financial stakeholders
  • Advanced IT skills to enable manipulation of multiple data sources to deliver detailed analytics is essential. Experience using Microsoft Power BI an advantage.
  • Good presenting skills, comfortable presenting to, and receiving challenge from, senior management
  • Strategic thinker with ability to assess all targets in relation to the overall corporate strategy.
