My client, a leading international Construction Company, is seeking a Systems Analyst to join their team. The client are happy to consider qualified or part-qualified accountants as well as Systems Analysts who possess a good understanding of finance.

Reporting to the Group Snr Financial Systems Manager, the candidate will be required to develop an understanding of the business and the applications/systems supporting that business. The Systems Analyst will apply the knowledge acquired to improve and increase the success of the business by working with both the business and technical teams who are responsible for building, modifying and maintaining the system that support the business. Key to this role are the skills abilities and techniques required to act as the ‘enabling bridge’ between the Business and Systems with the emphasis on representing the Business throughout. Experience eliciting, defining and analysing reporting requirements will be a distinct advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Understand the needs of the business and successfully link needs and solutions
  • Work closely with Snr Financial Systems Manager / Finance operations / Commercial personnel to identify where software configuration changes are required in the financial/commercial systems, and/or process re-engineering, which will help to improve business practices
  • Activity involved in decision-making on potential new systems/processes
  • Ensure the existing systems are fit for purpose in terms of functionality, integration, controls and security, in line with best practices
  • Work closely with various teams to investigate and resolve system issues
  • Ensure financial data from the other information systems can link in smoothly and properly with the central financial system and the Management Information Systems
  • Responsibility for system housekeeping activities on the central financial system
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge about all products, systems and procedures that relate to the finance and commercial function
  • Implement existing controls to protect the integrity of the information in the Management Information Systems
  • Ad hoc tasks as assigned from time to time

Requirements

  • A part-qualified/qualified accountant or systems analyst, with a strong knowledge of financial and management reporting
  • Ability to review processes and provide solutions on process improvement
  • Experience in the construction industry preferable
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work on own initiative, as well as meet tight reporting deadlines.  Ability to perform under pressure
  • Familiarity with COINS, Navision and BI 360 is preferable
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products
