Our client, a leading insurance company based in North Dublin, are currently seeking a Senior Risk officer to join their team. This is a full-time, permanent position with salary guided at €80,000 base + benefits.
Responsibilities
- Development & maintenance of the risk management framework
- Maintain and develop the risk appetite framework and the stress and scenario testing framework and clearly articulate/communicate risk strategy, appetite and policies
- Identify emerging risk issues, escalate where appropriate initiate mitigating strategies and report to the Risk Committee and/or Board as appropriate
- Ensure development and implementation of systems and reports sufficient to identify, monitor, control and report on risk exposures against existing approved limits as detailed with the Companies Risk Appetite statement
- Compiling and maintaining the Corporate Risk Register
- Escalating key risk issues to Management and to the Risk committee within agreed and specified timeframes
- Advising management and risk owners on necessary improvements in risk management procedures and controls
- Ensuring risk management practices, policies and procedures comply with best practice and are Solvency II compliant and a culture of risk management is embedded in the company
- Oversight of the risk management framework of outsourced providers
- Acting as Secretary to the Risk Committee
- Lead and co-ordinate the successful completion of all Central Bank of Ireland regulatory requirements for enterprise risk management (ORSA, Regular Supervisory Report, Solvency & Financial Condition Report etc.)
Requirements
- Intermediate/Advanced Excel
- Understanding of the Solvency II Standard formula model
- Understanding of Irish/UK/European Regulations and Legislation
- Experience in financial services
- Background in risk management, compliance or legal
- Solvency II experience in ORSA and / or Pillar 3 risk related disclosures
- Track record of developing and implementing risk tools in a financial services environment
- Good report writing and presentation skills
- Excellent problem solving, judgement and analytical skills
- Excellent time management and ability to work on numerous tasks across multiple departments
- Positive attitude towards change and process improvement
- Project management skills, managing projects to completion
- Third level qualification or equivalent (preferably business, accountancy or risk management discipline)
