Our client, a global software company based in Dublin City Centre, are hiring for Senior Payroll Specialist to join their team on a permanent basis. Ideal candidates will have 5+ years processing payroll for multi-state payroll for over 500+ employees. As a Senior Payroll Specialist, you’ll administer the monthly payroll for employees. In addition, you’ll ensure all employees are paid accurately, timely and in compliance with company’s policies and governmental regulations.
Responsibilities
- Process and oversee full cycle multi-state monthly payroll (including regular pay, bonuses, commissions and garnishments)
- Maintain payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data from personnel and timekeeping systems
- Review imported updates to payroll records in payroll system against appropriate back up and enters manual changes in personal exemptions, direct deposit, and other employee related pay and deductions
- Audit timecards for accuracy and resolve timecard questions and/or issues
- Prepare a variety of reports as requested by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions and accrual balances
- Process, calculate, and issue manual and term checks as needed
- Review quarterly, annual and W-2 payroll tax reports as prepared by payroll provider. Determine liabilities by calculating employee federal and state income and social security taxes and employer’s social security, unemployment, and workers compensation payments
- Produce monthly payroll and vacation accruals and enter into accounting general ledger system
- Receive, interpret, and facilitate wage garnishments as needed
- Resolve payroll questions and issues by collecting and analyzing information and works with appropriate channels to solve with speed and accuracy
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed, while maintaining employee confidence and protecting payroll operations by keeping information confidential
- Work collaboratively with US and International HR teams to provide courteous and efficient information to employee requests and questions
- Facilitate audit requests and assist in other projects as necessary
Requirements
- 5+ years processing payroll for multi-state payroll for over 500+ employees
- 2-year degree, preferably in Accounting or equivalent experience
- Must understand and be updated on payroll related regulations (wage and hour laws, IRS rules regarding supplemental wages, etc.)
- Must be detail oriented and able to meet deadlines accurately.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written, and an ability to make confident judgment decisions
- Strong skills in using Microsoft Excel and Outlook are required. Knowledge of ADP is a plus
- Ability to prioritize, reorganize priorities, multi-task and be effective in a fast paced, dynamic environment
- Ability to both work well independently as well as a team member
- Excellent organizational skills and detail-oriented approach are required
