My client, a leading financial institution, are looking for a Risk Specialist to join their team in Dublin 2. Risk Governance is concerned with the structures and mechanisms used to enhance best practice decision making in Group Risk. It is designed to ensure risks are assessed, measured, monitored and reported to committees and forums for discussion. This role will support the head of Risk Governance in meeting the numerous deadlines for Risk reporting to committees, liaising with local an European Regulators, whilst also managing internal stakeholder relationships. In addition, responsibilities will include tracking recommendations provided by our Regulators, Internal Audit and Executives to enhance the Group Risk Function and managing the Group’s Risk Appetite.


1. Accountabilities for your role – what are you expected to do?

•  Management and coordination of the Group’s Risk Appetite Statement – Annual and Mid Cycle reviews

•  Preparation of monthly reporting packs relating to Risk Appetite, gathering information across the group for committee reports and submission of high quality reports to Senior Management and Board

•  Ensure the Group risk policies and documentation is consistent across the Risk Group

•  Support and participation in the Risk Culture Awareness Programme – Rolling out Presentations/learning tools to staff across the Group

•  Tracking action points and preparing high quality responses as raised by Regulators, Internal Audit and Executives

•  Participate in Risk management projects across Group Risk

3. Technical Competences for your Role – what are you expected to know?



•  Bachelor’s degree or part qualified professional qualification or relevant experience

•  Previous experience in a Retail bank/ Financial Services/ Regulated Risk environment

•  Prior Risk Management experience preferred but not mandatory provided it has been identified in the candidate’s career direction

•  Experience liaising with regulators an advantage

•  Has worked within a team environment working to strict deadlines

•   Demonstrates a high level of attention to detail and accuracy and produces high quality papers for onward upward submission

•  Ability to think creatively and laterally in order to solve problems

•  Being highly organised and demonstrating an ability to work both collaboratively and independently in a multi-task and multi-focus environment

•  Strong communication and interpersonal skills
