Our client, a leading Insurance Plc, are looking for a Reporting Accountant for a full-time, permanent position located in Dublin 2.

Responsibilities

  • All operational aspects of the production of ledgers, including the preparation of account reconciliations and analysis of balance sheet and profit & loss items
  • Preparation of statutory accounts for group companies, including corporate members
  • Production of analytical tools and analytical memos supporting each one of the reports produced
  • Development of diagnostics and continuous interaction with underwriters and actuaries in order to develop the understanding of the figures
  • The preparation and maintenance of timetables and department resource planning
  • Handling of all technical aspects affecting the production of syndicate returns
  • Managing all operational aspects of the production of documents, in order to ensure the timely and accurate production of syndicate returns
  • Maintaining the sound system of internal controls, including where appropriate SOX controls
  • Liaising with third parties involved in the production of financial data (e.g. actuaries, underwriters, other areas of Finance, in order to ensure that the Department counts on all the resources (time, quality of data, etc) needed for a proper review and analysis
  • Liaising with internal and external auditors at the highest level and ensuring that all the information required is produced and the audits are completed on time.

Requirements

  • Exposure to reporting activities to senior management committees
  • Advanced experience of using Excel
  • Advanced report writing skills
  • Excellent verbal communication
  • CIMA / ACCA / CA
  • Able to deliver results under tight deadlines, showing flexibility when required
  • Self starter, requiring minimum supervision, with the ability to solve problems and find solutions
  • “Can do” attitude and willing to take more responsibilities
  • Strong communication skills at every level within the organisation
  • Team player
