Our client, a financial services organisation based in Dublin 2 are seeking a Part-Qualified Accountant for a 7-month maternity contract role. Ideal candidates will have experience working within practice, or have exposure to preparing sets of accounts.

 

Responsibilities

  • Timely processing, recording & posting of all primary accounting transactions including Billing & Payment Requests, Sales Invoices & Receipts, Purchase/Expense Invoices & Payments
  • Preparation of accurate working papers & accounting schedules to support month end accounting balances and bringing accounts to trial balance
  • Assisting the Credit Controller in ensuring debtors are recovered to target levels
  • Preparation of DD/direct transfer schedules to assist in the efficient collection of debtor balances
  • Assistance in the preparation of annual audit files in line with Group accounting policies & procedures and responding in a timely manner to the auditors queries to ensure completion of annual audit within Board driven deadlines

Requirements

  • Must have at least two year’s experience of bringing accounts to trial balance stage
  • A strong working knowledge of Excel and accounting packages (preferably Quickbooks) is required
  • Must have an accounting technician qualification or be progressing through the later stages of a professional accountancy qualification
  • Excellent numerical skills and high attention to detail
  • Highly organised and methodical work approach
  • Ability to work on own initiative whilst still being a strong team player
  • Ability to interact effectively with people at all levels
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • A strong desire to further their skills and competency in accountancy
  • Experience of accounting for financial services companies is desirable
