This role is a full-time role based in Dublin and will require a small amount of travel.

The candidate should be a qualified accountant with 7 years PQE in an insurance company. This role will give the successful candidate access to understand all aspects of a growing insurance entity and work with stakeholders from the across the business.

Responsibilities

CONTROL ENVIRONMENT

  • Ensure that the company has a strong control environment with well documented procedures and processes. The Head of Finance will be responsible for providing assurance to the CEO and the Board that the company is compliant with all relevant regulation, SII, accounting standards (FRS) and guidelines

OVERSEEING DAY TO DAY FINANCE OPERATIONS

  • Ensure that the day to day finance operations are functioning efficiently and effectively and highlighting areas of improvement
  • Ensuring that all deadlines are met
  • Overseeing the work of the financial accountant
  • Ensuring all tax obligations are filed accurately and on-time
  • Reviewing work of outsourced service providers including internal group and external providers

FINANCIAL REPORTING

  • Meeting all financial reporting deadlines
  • Meeting all group financial reporting deadlines

BUSINESS PERFORMANCE AND ANALYSIS

  • Deliver insightful business analysis to the senior management to allow informed and effective decision making
  • Drive the financial planning process for the company and preparing of updated forecast positions as the company grows

 

SOLVENCY II

  • Along with other team members delivering the Company SFCR and RSR
  • Delivering accurate QRTs to the CBI
  • Ensuring that well documented processes are in place to give adequate assurance to the Board that the QRTs are correct

Requirements

  • Qualified accountant with a minimum 7 years PQE in insurance
  • Experience preparing Board reports, analysing data, assisting strategic decisions within an organisation
  • Experience preparing/reviewing SII QRTs
  • Excellent Excel skills
  • Excellent written, numerical and verbal communication skills
  • Strong team player with a capability of working on own initiative and willing to help other areas of small team when required
  • A confident approach and an ability to communicate with a wide range of people including regulators, legal advisors, outsourced partners and senior management within the business
