Do you have the desire to work for a leading Irish plc? Looking for the opportunity to work within a small finance team, allowing you to gain excellent exposure to group consolidations, financial analysis and commercial elements of the business?

My client is listed company, headquartered in Dublin that employees over 2000. They are currently recruiting for a Group Accountant to join their team, they are offering a very competitive salary + benefits and parking! In return they are looking for a qualified accountant with 2 years PQE in industry. The ideal candidate will have consolidation experience and strong working knowledge of UK/Irish GAAP and IFRS. Knowledge of SAP would be an advantage too!

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of monthly consolidated financial statements for the group
  • Monthly financial analysis and review
  • Maintenance of head office TB’s and files
  • Preparation of annual statutory accounts for head office entities
  • Preparation of ROS and CSO returns
  • Preparation of Annual Report and results presentations
  • Co-ordinate and review annual statutory accounts for individual group companies
  • Assist the external tax team on various group matters and provide detailed workings at their request
  • Maintain internal controls, risk register and group policies and procedures documents
  • Confirm proper treatment and compliance of all accounting transactions and policies
  • Audit preparation and managing the audit process
  • Liaise with pension advisors
  • Manage timetables for key reporting requirements
  • Assist with financial modelling and strategic plans
  • Assist the Head of Group Reporting with ad hoc duties as required and participate in various projects where relevant

 

Requirements

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified Accountant
  • Strong consolidation experience
  • Strong working knowledge of UK/Irish GAAP and IFRS
  • Attention to detail is essential
  • Must have excellent computer (excel, powerpoint, word) and communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • It is important that this person be able to present themselves credibly to different levels of the organisation
  • The ideal candidate needs to be a self-starter with the ability to work on their own initiative whilst within a team environment
  • Must be well organised with a strong personality
  • The ideal candidate must be able to work to strict deadlines
  • Knowledge of SAP would be advantageous but not essential
