This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing company and manage the day to day operations of the finance department covering a number of companies. You will develop finance systems and procedures and provide support to the Finance Director as required.

 

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of the finance and admin team (11 staff), set and follow up on objectives and KPI’s, provide feedback to staff on their performance on a continuous basis
  • Carry out the departments PDI’s (performance appraisals)for all staff to include, analyzing results, identifying skills gaps and opportunities for learning, putting together a training and development plan for all employees and carrying out the mid-year follow up review
  • Timely production of monthly management and cost management accounts, including all associated reporting, analyses and business modeling.7 day month end close
  • Ensure that all external reporting requirements are complied with, including CSO returns, VAT, Taxes, Intrastat, Vies and bank reporting
  • Ensure Tax compliance in all taxes and timely filing of returns
  • Manage the production of annual, multi-annual and rolling cash flow forecasts together with the continuous development of these models
  • Manage working capital movements for the relevant sites
  • Monitoring and review of current accounting systems, processes and existing business models in order to recommend and introduce improved methods of working. This will also include regular reviews of the information technology systems ensuring data integrity, data security, and data backup
  • Liaise with and build partnering relationships with all internal departments/functions and other group companies and develop a customer service focus in the finance department
  • Co-ordination of the annual external audit process ensuring compliance with the relevant statutory obligations and internal Group reporting deadlines and working with the Audit Committee
  • Manage key finance projects and resourcing requirements
  • Liaise with the Divisional Finance Director on an on-going basis with a view to developing and implementing systems to enhance the finance and administration function
  • To undertake any other reasonable duties as required

Requirements

  • Strong people management and time management skills
  • Experience of managing a finance team
  • Professional qualification in accountancy
  • Excellent IT Skills and ability to develop IT systems
  • Membership of a Professional Accountancy body
  • Commercial experience in an accountancy function
  • Strong Technical Accounting skills including Excel, costing and stock management
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Confidence to use initiative, and to problem solve, and in reporting this to the management team
  • Experience of managing a finance team
