My client is a property development and investment company within the Irish, UK and US markets. They are currently recruiting for a Financial Accountant which will report directly to the Group CFO. The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role and the ability to think and act independently when required.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for maintaining the books and records of the company
- Completion of weekly bank reconciliations and posting all movements across several accounts
- Management of the accounts payable/receivable functions
- Preparation of monthly Trial Balance for all group companies and the completion of monthly accounts to a strict deadline
- Responsibility for preparation and filing of annual accounts with the CRO and ensuring all documentation and intercompany loan agreements are complete and up to date
- Assisting external tax advisors with preparation of annual tax returns
- Responsibility for the preparation and filing of VAT, PAYE/PRSI and RCT returns on line
- Supervise accounts assistant and help develop their accountancy skills through on the job cooperation
Requirements
- Confirmed experience in a similar role
- Fluent English with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to multi task and prioritise workload in order to meet strict deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail with an ability to use initiative and maintain confidentiality at all
times - Excellent computer skills including excel
- Ability to develop and document processes improvements and manage change
- Experience in the use of accounting packages etc. – currently use ABM (Advanced Business Manager would be a distinct advantage)
