Our client, a leading Insurance provider with over 40 years experience in the Irish market, is recruiting for a Qualified Financial Accountant to undertake a key role within the finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious qualified accountant to work with a very prominent insurance group.

This is a permanent position, reporting to the Group Head of Finance, the purpose of this role is to administer the accounts function of the FS business, reporting to the Group Head of Finance, with a dotted line to the Managing Director.


  • Preparation of monthly financial & management accounts for sign off by Holdings finance function, ensuring compliance with regulatory reporting accounting standards
  • Preparation of Sales expenses & bonus payments
  • To liaise with Product & Partner Manager on budgetary and accounts matters
  • Preparation of Ad Hoc reports
  • Preparation of monthly sales cost, expenses and commission analysis
  • Liaise with intercompany accounts and payroll departments
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors
  • Preparation of statutory accounts and corporation tax computation
  • Prepare monthly commission reconciliation for the back book
  • Monitor commission reconciliation with the preferred provider
  • Complete monthly bank reconciliation for all providers
  • Liaise with external customers and suppliers
  • Business Owner and maintainer of the financial management system (FMS) Assist in maintaining the General Ledger, Chart of Accounts , Fixed Asset, Sales , Accounts payable and accounts receivable ledgers
  • Compliance with Consumer Protection Code on accounts procedures


  • A qualified accountant with a minimum of 2-3 year’s experience working in a similar role
  • Experience in Financial Services advantageous
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
  • Approachable, Professional and Positive manner
  • Flexible with an ability to adapt to change
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Effective communicator (verbal and written)
  • Must be methodical, high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • An enthusiastic self-starter with the energy and drive to improve processes & solve problems under their own direction
  • An ambitious attitude, an individual who is self-aware and willing and able to grow and develop further assuming increased responsibility with experience and opportunity
