The Financial Accountant for Financial Services in Group Finance, is responsible for Transactional work and customer service related to Accounts Payable and General & Administration expenses (Cash management, AP, VAT, Prepaids, etc.).

This person will ensure sub activity metrics are met and assist in driving improvements. The key to success for this person will be to manage a timely and quality delivery  to meet customer needs and team requirements.  Also, help create  an  environment  conducive  for  process  automation/improvement  culminating  in  productivity  and  customer benefits.


  • Review and assist with output of the tasks performed by BPO partner

– VAT – review all VAT related calculations, adjustments and reconciliations

– Bank approvals oversight – ensuring time sensitive payments are approved on time

– Intercompany Settlements management– reporting, appropriate approval and payments

– Bank & various GL reconciliations oversight

– Cash book oversight

– T&E support including unapproved expense monitoring, reporting and customer service

– Vendor management oversight and approvals

– Fixed Assets/WIP processing oversight and reporting for group and local controllers

– Prepaid assets processing oversight and reporting for group and local controllers

– SOP management – continuous review and coordination of SOPs

  • Assist with queries related to Financial Services activities, specifically AP related
  • Assist in monitoring performance of the BPO partner Service Levels
  • Assist with cash management and daily/weekly cash requirements with Treasury
  • Assist with special projects and provide support with audit/examination inquiries


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or minimum of 2-3 years of accounting experience. Insurance industry experience would be beneficial
  • Knowledge about expense lifecycle preferably in the Insurance industry
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • Hyperion Smartview and Oracle experience is beneficial
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Strong analytical, problem solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to successfully prioritize workload
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • International travel may be required
