Our client, a leading reinsurance company, are hiring a Financial Accountant to join their team based in Dublin 2. This is a permanent role with a salary guide of €55,000 and a strong benefits package. Ideal candidates will have previous insurance experience.
Responsibilities
- Financial Accounting Close – Monthly & Quarterly
- Management of offshore teams in their performance(Journal entry posting, Bank Reconciliation, Technical Reconciliations {Premium, Claims, Acq Costs})
- Review monthly entries to local Irish / UK GAAP ledger performed offshore
- Review of Quarterly inputs to Solvency II European Regulatory reporting ledger performed offshore
- Perform retained onshore tasks (Reserving process, booking adhoc journals)
- Liaise with external Auditors by providing data/responses to queries
- Observe internal controls in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley
- Work closely with Legal Entity Controllers by assisting in the analytic review of their entities
- Liaise with various business teams throughout the globe to further understand entity specific variances across investments, ceded reinsurance and G&A
- Support the European reporting team based in Dublin as required with respect to preparation of management packs and additional adhoc analysis for annual filings
- Participation in other adhoc assignments or projects as required
Requirements
- Recently qualified with Insurance experience
- Basic understanding of SOX compliance requirements with respect to Financial Reporting processes
- Experience with financial systems (preferably Oracle), business performance management systems and experience with business intelligence software
- Capable of working under pressure
- Ability to work with cross functional teams
- Independent individual with ‘Can do’ attitude
