My client, a leading Irish law firm, are seeking a Commercial Financial Accountant to join their team, based in Dublin 2. The Firm advises domestic and international corporations, financial institutions and government organisations with offices in London, New York and Silicon Valley.  Strong client relationship and high quality advice are the hallmarks of the business with the Firm’s priorities being focused on the need to achieve results for Clients.

The Financial Accountant will work as a senior member of the Finance team and report directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

Responsibilities

  • Working directly with the CFO to support the delivery of the CFO’s agenda through specific initiatives
  • Assisting in the production and further development of key performance indicators, financial dashboards, reports and ad-hoc analysis to support oversight of the financial performance of the Firm
  • Developing standardised reporting to support the communication of financial information at Executive and Senior Management Meetings
  • Reviewing existing processes to control, manage and report on Senior Management remuneration  arrangements and assessing opportunities for process improvement / refinement
  • Drafting and rolling out of Firm Policies in critical areas of the business including Billing, Collections, Bad Debts, Time Recording, etc
  • Supporting an overall drive to reduce manual processes in favour of a more systematic and automated approach across key Financial processes
  • Attaining and documenting an overall level of understanding in all key areas of the Finance function from general ledger accounting, month end closings, tax computations, budgeting, forecasting and client profitability analysis
  • Working on other Finance tasks and projects as may be required from time to time

Requirements

  • Strong academic track record
  • Big4 qualified ACA, ACCA with financial services experience while training and 1-3 years post qualified experience (PQE)
  • Enthusiastic self-starter with the energy and drive to improve processes and solve problems under own direction
  • Results-oriented approach with strong ability to contribute to and drive the achievement of targets and deadlines
  • Effective communicator with excellent oral communication skills
  • Strong, clear and concise report writing abilities
  • A precise approach to work with meticulous attention to detail
  • A high level of systems proficiency, especially with the Microsoft Office suite
