Our client, a leading global Reinsurance firm, is seeking a Business & Financial Analyst to join an established team managing a significant and growing book of delegated authority business. This Dublin based position will be primarily responsible for financial oversight of the delegated authority portfolio. The ideal candidate with be a qualified accountant with big 4 experience at managerial level.


  • Monthly review of accounting entries made by the Insurance Manager
  • Monthly bordereaux reconciliation
  • Understanding of the business terms and reinsurance protections for each delegated relationship
  • Booking XOL accruals and ensuring timely XOL premium payment by the Insurance Manager
  • Review of each delegated authority’s quarterly performance
  • Monitoring and internal reporting of key financial metrics
  • Financial reporting on the entities writing the delegated authority business including the intercompany quota share and retrocessions
  • Provide information required by the Insurance Manager for compliance and regulatory purposes
  • Develop existing accounting and transactional templates to assist the onboarding for new business
  • Obtaining an understanding of MGA’s accounting function
  • Perform walkthroughs of and document clients accounting processes and controls
  • Providing clear and concise reports to management on client visits


  • A university degree, preferably with a numerical focus
  • Qualified accountant, at minimum meaningful insurance accounting experience
  • Experience in the insurance industry or within an MGA, ideally within the UK Motor line of business
  • SEC Experience advantageous
  • Experience in handling large policy level data sets
  • Experience in calculation and management of complex reinsurance arrangements. In particular ability to calculate sliding scale commission and profit commissions
  • Experience and ability with solving quantitative problems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of applications, with advanced Excel (e.g. pivot tables) and Access skills
  • Able to work independently and be a problem solver
  • Ability to follow direction and work towards goal
