Our client, a leading Insurance company in North Dublin, are looking to fill an Assistant Accountant vacancy within their team.   • Review management accounts prior to uploading into group ledger
  • Ensure correct intragroup eliminations are reflected as part of the consolidation
  • Liaise on a regular basis with local offices and third party accountants
  • Responsible for the preparation of balance sheet reconciliations and bank reconciliations
  • To support Group Reporting team during key reporting periods
  • Assist in the reconciliation of intercompany balances of service companies and group entities
  • Perform analytical review of P&L and BS for service companies
  • Prepare annual statutory accounts for ROW service companies
  • Liaise with external auditors on matters relating to service companies
  • Report on service companies matters arising of specific relevance to the board
  • Prepare papers for the service company operations group
  • Review internal commission invoices received from local offices and ensure timely settlement thereof
  • Liaise with Syndicate reporting ensuring that the commission is reflected in their ledger and all FX considerations have been accounted for
  • Perform analytical review of internal commission on a quarterly basis
  • Support the service company controller and the finance manager on service company and group related finance projects as necessary
  • Work with several teams in developing best practice within Beazley procedures
  • Help standardise and automate service company process through identifying process issues and improvement opportunities
  • Prepare and review necessary procedure documents
  • Prepare and, if necessary, present periodic management reporting of key issues;
  • In particular, support the production of financial reporting of Service company results to the relevant regulators


  • University degree in finance/ business/ accounting preferred
  • Studying towards professional qualification i.e. ACCA, CIMA, ACA
  • Process management skills – able to review existing processes and procedures; making recommendations for rationalisation/improvement, and implement them operationally
  • Ability to work at both detailed and summary level
  • Strong communication skills  both verbally and in writing, ability to be able to listen
  • Motivational skills, team worker as well as able to work on own initiative
  • Ability to work under own initiative, under pressure, and to tight deadlines
  • Knowledge of insurance company accounting is preferred
  • General commercial and financial knowledge
  • Experience of writing and implementing guidelines and setting performance measure
