Our client, is a global company based in South Dublin, are recruiting for an Assistant Cost Reporting Accountant to join their finance team. The ideal candidate will be an Accounting Technician or a Part-Qualified Accountant who will assist with tax accounting, reporting and the related submissions to Revenue for Professional Services Withholding Tax (PSWT), VAT and corporation tax.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly cost reports and metrics
  • Support the annual budgeting and monthly forecasting process
  • Working with other Finance team members in terms of:
  • Collaboration, sharing of knowledge, and facilitating functional training
  • Engagement, coaching and mentoring of junior members of the Finance team
  • Working and supporting colleagues across the firm, ensuring effective collaboration, communication and development of solutions
  • Support and promote a positive working environment
  • Projects will form a key aspect of this role, with the candidate expected to be able to manage and successfully deliver projects working with colleagues within the Finance, Support and Business functions and teams
  • Full ownership of the Inter/IntraCompany Trade and Non Trade Process includes settling inter/intracompany Expenses and loan balances
  • Coordinate Monthly Payroll with external administrators (500+ employees). Setting KPIs for external Payroll providers to achieve efficient and effective process flow
  • Posting all Payroll month end Journals and Recharges across all OUs.
  • Preparation and coordination of the NEDs Payroll on quarterly and half yearly basis and year end tax returns
  • Ownership of all Payroll and Intercompany BS reconciliations includes preparation of reconciliations and investigating, resolving historic/current balances
  • Preparation of other BS reconciliations at the month end
  • Month End duties such as accruals and prepayment review and posting journals
  • Posting various other ad hoc month end journals such as reclasses, accrual release etc.
  • Building relationships with Business Partners, HR Partners, Facilities Manager to review accrual register and incorporate amendments required for the month end
  • Work closely with Accounts payable to facilitate Accrual/Prepayment Releases
  • Streamline and simplify existent processes
  • Prepare process documents for existent and new processes
  • Review the work and mentor other junior staff in the Cost and Revenue Reporting Team
  • Detailed Analysis of MI reports at the month end of all Cost lines across all entities Actual vs Plan, Actual vs Budget/Forecast
  • Preparation of the yearend Financial Statements and audit packs
  • Dealing with external auditors queries
  • Oversee accounts payable process and seek to streamline existent process
  • Review bank reconciliations prepared by junior staff and make sure bank accounts are fully reconciled at the month end
  • Review the Budget and incorporate amendments to the accrual templates according the new budget
  • Set online banking manual payments across multiple banks and approval of same
  • Building strong relations with various internal and external stakeholders within Ireland, UK, USA, Mumbai and Manila

Requirements

  • Exceptional commercial acumen – understanding of the key business revenue and Profit & Loss drivers
  • Strong financial knowledge – Accounting Technician or part qualified accountant
  • Excellent interpersonal skills – ability to develop strong working relationships with the business
  • Pro-active – ability to use initiative, self-starting, ability to prioritise and deliver within deadlines
  • Passionate – to make a difference and to “add value” to the business
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with strong attention to detail
  • Detail-oriented with ability to prioritise and organise workflow
  • Highly computer literate with superior skills in Microsoft Excel, and knowledge of accounting applications e.g. Oracle E-Business Suite, Hyperion, etc
