One of the world’s leading global advisory companies are looking to hire an Accounts Assistant to join their rapidly expanding Finance Team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recently graduated professional wishing to start their professional accounting career.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Revenue Reporting team, assisting in the posting of month-end Oracle journal entries including revenue accruals and revenue deferrals. Oversee the revenue interface between the Financial Accounting HUB and Oracle, and manually uploading files where the interface has not run successfully
  • Support the Cost Reporting team, assisting in the posting of month-end Oracle journal entries, including prepayments and cost accruals. Assist in the reconciliation of intercompany transactions
  • Support the Accounting & Settlement (A&S) coordinator, assisting with debtor refunds, cheque receipt log and lodgements, supporting debtor collections, accounts receivable aging, doubtful debt provisions, supporting the processing of fiduciary payments, posting journals in the Broking and Oracle applications
  • Work with the Accounts Payable team, ensuring that approved invoices are scanned and approved for payment through the ProcessIT application within the agreed supplier credit terms; assist with establishing and maintaining contact with key suppliers
  • Assist the financial reporting team, helping to post journal entries within the financial ledger system, analyse balance sheet movements and prepare reconciliations, provide analysis of actual Profit & Loss performance to Plan and Prior Year
  • Support the annual budgeting and monthly forecasting process
  • Support treasury operations across the team, helping to reconcile bank accounts on a monthly basis
  • Member of the overall Finance team, available to assist areas within Finance, as and when required
  • Working with other Finance team members in terms of; Collaboration, sharing of knowledge, and facilitating functional training
  • Projects will also form an aspect of this role, with the candidate expected to be able to manage and successfully deliver projects working with colleagues within the Finance, Support and Business functions and teams

 

Requirements

  • Recent college graduate now progressing to a professional accounting qualification
  • Ability to continuously question the status quo and a strong supporter for change
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Attention to detail in a transaction-driven environment
  • Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities
  • Flexible, organised and passionate Team player with exceptional interpersonal skills
